Teams keep calling – but so far the Texans aren’t listening.
Despite Deshaun Watson wanting to get out of Houston and ask for a trade, Texans still insist they have no interest in moving from him, according to an ESPN report.
The report said the teams had “received the message” and privately hoped Houston would change its position, but according to sources, they intend to remain stable and have no interest in letting Watson leave.
Both new Texan director Nick Caserio and head coach David Culley have publicly stated that they have no desire to change Watson. It seems that the organization holds this position firmly.
It could lead to an ugly confrontation between the two sides, as sources close to Watson said he has no interest in ever playing a blow to the Texans. He is under contract until 2025, but has not yet spoken to Caserio or Culley.
It is rumored that Watson would have the Jets at the top of his list of potential destinations. Other teams he seems to be interested in include Dolphins and Broncos.
