The Louisiana woman who went viral because she used Gorilla Glue as a hair spray said in an interview that she never intended to spread her sticky saga online – but was desperate for help to cope with her mess.
“I was never going to take this on social media. The reason I took this to social networks was because I didn’t know what to do, “Tessica Brown told ET.
“And I know someone there could have told me something. I didn’t think for a second when I woke up the next morning that it would be everywhere, “she added.
Brown, whose hair has remained solid for a month, said Wednesday he would go see a surgeon to remove it.
She made the announcement after TMZ reported that a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills had offered to help for free.
In describing how he got into the hairy situation, Brown told ET that he “certainly” regrets using the industrial-strength adhesive after running out of hairspray even when he was about to leave his home.
The mother of five said she had used Gorilla Glue before – though never on her hair – and assumed she could simply “wash it right away.”
After trying to use olives, tea tree and other oils to wash the glue, he decided to turn to social media – and then went to St. John’s Hospital. Parish in Chalmette, where health workers tried to use “small packets of acetone.”
But Brown refused to spend 22 hours in an emergency because his video for help took the internet by storm and was soon named “Gorilla Glue Girl.”
“I told my son today, ‘I wish I could come back,’ because I’m done. I’m done, “she told ET. “I’m usually the person who doesn’t care what people say. I only move at my own pace. I don’t care what people say, but it only gets to the point where people are on TV saying things about me. ”
Brown continued: “If you knew me, you wouldn’t say half the things I say. Then someone said, “Oh, she put this on her head on purpose just to get here.” Who in their right mind would say, “Well, let me sprinkle this on my head and become famous overnight?” Never! … Who would want them to do that? I needed someone to tell me how to get this out – that was it. ”
Brown, who owns Tessica’s Little Angels and leads dance group Dazzling Divaz, said she “didn’t need it” because her business was struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.

Brown shared that what she considers to be the most painful is called “Gorilla Glue Girl”, which “bothers my little girls when I go to school”.
