Tesla cars already have a wide range of Easter eggs, such as the ability to activate “fart mode, support for volume settings ranging from 11 and more. Brecently, Tesla owners have discovered a new trick that could be the most childish so far.

Recently observed by @tesla_master on Twitter, it looks like Tesla added support for a voice command that allows you to access the car’s charging port by saying “Open butthole”, with the accompanying “Close butthole” command meant to close the port when you’re done loading.

While this recent discovery represents only a handful of over 150 unofficial voice commands which works with Tesla cars, certainly attracts much more attention than to ask the car to fold or open its mirrors.

Based on a a handful of videos on Youtube, it appears that the “Open / close butthole” controls work on a number of Tesla brands and models, including older Model S and Model 3 vehicles. AIn some cars, however, the control can trigger the opening of the trunk or even the glovebox, so definitely do not test this while the car is moving. And, although the order began to capture much more attention until late, the Easter egg was actually spotted from April 2020 but it had not become widely known or available on a wider range of vehicles until recently.

Oh, and in case they’re big Beavis and Butthead fans there, Tesla also accepts a slightly modified voice command, which allows users to open the charging port saying “Open Bunghole”.

However, with Tesla CEO Elon Musk somewhat passionate about responding to random feature requests from Twitter users, you can bet that “Open Butthole” won’t be the last somewhat questionable voice command to be added to Tesla cars. Who says smart cars can’t be a little silly (or maybe weird), also?
