Now I know when I’m likely to have a heart attack. It will be when I walk, without suspicion, on the sidewalk and it happens that a Tesla honks its horn using the most terrifying sound I’ve heard in a few weeks: a beating goat. Now, I looked up videos of other goats beating and not scaring me. In fact, they’re kind of cute. But the Tesla goat seems to be screaming, and it’s very alarming.
Bleat is part of the company’s upgraded holiday software, which allows users to use a new “Boombox” mode to change the sound of horns to sounds like fart, posh, applause, tada, goat or “La Cucaracha”, among others. But if Tesla owners don’t like any of these options, they can also charge up to five custom USB sounds. In addition to changing the sound of the horn, Boombox essentially does what its name says: it turns the car into a boombox when parked and allows users to play songs on the car’s external speakers.
According to the software update release notes, which are explained in detail by the people at craftsmen, Boombox can be used in other cases.
“Turn your car into a boombox and have a lot of fun with the media player when you park. You can also customize the sound that your car makes when you press the horn, drive the car or when your car moves with Invocation ”, the notes show. “Select an option from the drop-down menu or insert your own USB device and save up to five custom sounds.”

You can check out some of the sounds from the video below at Tesla owners online. The scream is there.
However, not all Teslas will be able to use this feature, at least for now. Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who surprisingly loves these types of features, said on Twitter that only cars with installed external pedestrian speakers will receive the Boombox mode update. All Tesla cars manufactured after September 1, 2019 have these speakers installed to comply with the rules set by National Administration for Highway Traffic Safety, which requires electric and hybrid cars to emit a sound of up to 19 mph (30 km / h) to protect pedestrians.
The Tesla holiday update also included additional improvements to the car’s other fart feature: How to test emissions. This feature allows users to play a variety of fart sounds from different places in the car, as well as replace the signal noise with a fart. The company’s new update allows owners to use emissions testing outside the car, practically allowing it to pass through the external speakers of the car at any time.
Unfortunately, launching new fart features just for some of your customers apparently leaves others longing for the ability to fart. Example: Tesla owners at Silicon Valley Club asked Musk on Twitter if owners with older models without external speakers could install them to use Boombox.
“It simply came to our notice then. I want to manage the people who pass by “, the club posted on Twitter to Musk, who said he would Check it out if this was possible.
A kind reminder that all people have this ability, but I have the impression that it has to be much better in a car.
