A 17-year-old man got drunk on a ladder when sheriff’s deputies raided a crowded “bottle club” in Tribeca, authorities said.
“At the hearings, he told the deputy sheriffs that he had consumed alcoholic beverages he had bought at the party,” officials said of the child, who was “visibly intoxicated” and had to be taken to New York. Presbyterian Downtown Hospital.
There was a wild party just before the sheriffs rushed to the location, on Harrison Street, on the corner of Hudson Street, around 11 p.m. .
More than 123 people were upstairs, “drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana and not wearing masks,” New York Sheriff Joseph Fucito said in a press release.
Deputies arrested the club’s alleged host, 30-year-old Kurt David of Roslyn, NY, on charges of selling drink to someone under the age of 21 and violating pandemic emergency restrictions against large gatherings.
An accused bartender, two DJs and a party employee accused of selling packages of 3.5 grams of marijuana on the spot were also arrested.
The 17-year-old, whose name has not been released, escaped arrest, if not punishment – “Deputies remained with the minor until his parents took him into custody,” Fucito said.
