Tecatito termination clause will drop to 20 million euros in May and June

The Mexican has a contract with Porto until 2022 and can take advantage of that part of the agreement to find a way out at a lower cost

Crown cancellation clause Jesús “Tecatito” with Porto will drop to 20 million euros in May and June, to return to EUR 30 million, the initial cost, for July, according to information published by SIC news, the website of Portugal.

According to the Portuguese press, “Tecatito” introduced a paragraph in the contract it signed in 2019, the year it renewed with Porto, which allows it to reduce its termination clause each season, so that the Portuguese do not sell the footballer, an agreement that will leave the Mexican with a price of 20 million euros in May and June.

Three years ago, when Corona agreed to an agreement with the Blue Dragons until 2022, the clause was agreed at 50 million euros. However, it has dropped to 30 million euros for 2019, the same figure it will maintain until April and recover in July.

Sevilla was one of the teams that became interested in the Mexican footballer, since Julen Lopetegui, the current coach of the Spaniard and who led the Monterrey youth team from Portugal, publicly accepted the intention to take him to the Nervionense team.

“The prototype is Corona, he is one of my weaknesses, he is an extraordinary player, he has a lot of talent, a great ability to control the game and offensive situations, an important speed,” the strategist said in an interview with ESPN in May 2020.

“It simply came to our notice then. If he didn’t come out, it’s because I imagine that Porto would ask for a lot of money, but he was one of the best players in the Portuguese league and, if you ask me, I would say that he would be emphatic ”.

“Tecatito” has become Porto since arriving in the 2015/2016 season, as it arrived as a wing, but over the years it has fallen back until it became indisputable for the Portuguese, but as a straight wing.

Corona played 261 matches with the Blue Dragons, a team with which he collaborated with 31 annotations and 66 assists, in addition to boasting five titles: two in the league, two Portuguese Super Cups and a Portuguese Cup.
