Team Biden goes to Iran – and gets nothing in return

Even before the ‘indirect’ US-Iran talks in Vienna ended, Team Biden collapsed, with the State Department saying it is ready to lift sanctions against the rogue regime to rejoin the nuclear deal – giving away all power without getting anything in return.

Spokesman Ned Price said Washington is “ready” to lift any sanctions “inconsistent with” the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. He wouldn’t give details, “I’m not in a position here to give you chapter and verse on what that might be.”

And Price, on repeated demands, refused to even drop individual sanctions against Tehran for its terrorism, human rights violations and ballistic missile program.

That cave came after just two days of indirect talks – with representatives from China, Russia, Germany, France and Britain as intermediaries – that crowed Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and was already a “success”.

The Europeans tried to get Team Biden to lift some sanctions during his first days in office, but the president said Tehran should move first, get back in line with the deal by ending uranium enrichment by 20 percent and ending production. of uranium. metal – which even the Europeans have condemned for having no civil use.

President Donald Trump’s maximum pressure campaign almost brought the regime to its knees, especially after the Iranian people revolted after seeing the regime spend the pallets of money from the nuclear deal on military adventure and terrorism rather than on its own citizens. to feed. Biden is ready to give up that power – and give the regime the means to commit even more evil deeds.

It’s especially irritating given the ridiculous offers Tehran made before the talks started.

The Europeans, in consultation with Team Biden, offered to release $ 1 billion in revenue from frozen oil in exchange for Iran to freeze its production of 20 percent enriched uranium. Tehran rejected that – asking that America release all of its frozen export earnings, estimated at more than $ 30 billion, in exchange for a month-long production break. Washington rejected that ridiculous idea and counter-proposed the release of some frozen assets and some oil export waivers in exchange for Iran’s cessation of 20 percent production and its work on advanced centrifuges. Again, Iran rejected the idea.

Why on earth would Team Biden respond by giving the farm away? There’s no need to rush: Thanks to the sunset stipulations of the nuclear deal, Iran can still start nuclear within a decade. It is Tehran that must hurry, as it can only do business with tyrannies such as China and Venezuela until America lifts its sanctions.

And the regime’s wrongdoing is not limited to the pursuit of nuclear weapons or even terrorism in the Middle East. In February, a Belgian court convicted an Iranian diplomat planning to bomb a dissident rally near Paris in 2018 – and Tehran planned and approved the plan.

Now Biden plans to give Iran’s rulers more billions to play with – all with a view to preserving his old boss’ ‘legacy’. But the only legacy of legitimizing these monsters will be more murder.
