Taylor Swift plagiarizes to regain the authorship of the songs

Singer Tayor Swift announced on Thursday that she will record new versions of the songs from her album “Fearless” and her entire discography from the past, after losing the authority of the entire catalog due to a maneuver of the investment fund.

“This process was more satisfying and more emotional than I could have imagined and it gave me more determination to re-record all my music,” the 31-year-old singer said in a statement on her social networks.

“Artists should be masters of their own work for several reasons, but the most obvious is that the artist is the only one who knows his entire work,” explained the famous singer.

Swift will begin reclaiming her six albums with the release of a new version of her song “Love Story”, which can be purchased in its digital version for $ 13 or in vinyl, CD and cassette versions.

The rest of the album (Taylor’s version, as the singer pointed out) will be released in April, including six new songs.

The artist’s first album released in 2008 was released under the label Nashville Big Machine, which, as is customary in the American music industry in the early days of a new musician’s artistic life, held control of most rights. .

In 2019, Swift signed a contract with Universal Music that gave him the rights to his future masters, but coinciding with this change, music executive Scooter Braun acquired Big Machine and all the mastered recordings of the artist’s first six albums, with multiple records. behind him.

The acquisition, valued at $ 300 million, was made with the participation of the Carlyle Group investment fund and was subsequently transferred to the investment firm Shamrock Capital.

Swift was very critical of the move, saying he stripped her of her entire life and blamed Braun, who represents other pop stars such as Justin Bieber or Ariana Grande, for being manipulative and wanting to disassemble the work.
