Yesterday, a Nintendo Switch rating for Borderlands 3: Director’s Cut was observed on the PEGI scoreboard.
What’s a little weird about this is that “Director’s Cut” is actually a Season 2 DLC add-on (which I just was released this week on other platforms) and the basic game has not even been confirmed for the hybrid system.
So what happens? While many believe it could be a sign of a more official announcement in the future, GameSpot writer and verified Twitter user Gabe Gurwin has been in contact with a 2K representative. Apparently, Borderlands 3 “does not come to Switch” and is an “error” at the end of PEGI that 2K has now eliminated.
We showed ourselves and quite sure – the Nintendo Switch list has now disappeared from the official PEGI rating:
Although Nintendo’s rating for this DLC has been dropped, there is still (no doubt) growing evidence that Borderlands 3 could eventually arrive on the Switch. Apart from any other series entry already available on this hardware, there was a rather interesting discovery made by YouTuber Doctre81 in September last year.
The development studio and port specialist Fractured Byte posted a list of jobs looking for game developers (familiar with Switch) to work on an Unreal Engine project. The genre was a “shooter” and one of the tasks was to help the shipping games – like the first two Borderlands games – for Switch.
It seems that Fractured Byte also collaborated with Turn Me Up Games to help bring it about Borderlands: The Legendary Collection change. Hmm, interesting!
Do you think Borderlands 3 will eventually make it to Switch? Leave a comment below.
