Supporters of Donald Trump hold plans parallel to that of Joe Biden

Supporters of outgoing President of the United States, Republican Donald Trump, will host an inauguration in digital format on January 20 at 12:00 noon in parallel to that of President-elect Joe Biden.

The Trumpistas are grouped on a Facebook page called “Donald J. Trump’s Second Presidential Inauguration Ceremony.”

More than 62,000 people have confirmed their participation in the virtual event, while another 263,000 have expressed interest.

The event’s promoters describe themselves as a “group of grassroots people” who want to show their support for Trump without being “affiliated with a formal organization.”

Facebook, meanwhile, has posted a message on the page stating that “Joe Biden is the president-elect.”

“He will officially take office as the 46th president of the United States on January 20, 2021,” Facebook said.

Trump has yet to acknowledge his defeat in the Nov. 3 White House election and continues to hold on to unsubstantiated allegations of alleged mass electoral fraud.

The still president and his allies filed dozens of lawsuits in the courts in the weeks following the election, all dismissed by progressive and conservative judges, including the Supreme Court.

The partisan tricks to reverse the results also failed to have the desired effect, and just a week ago, the Electoral College made Biden official as president-elect.

That process led many Republican leaders, such as Senate majority group leader Mitch McConnell, to finally recognize Biden’s victory, but Trump and his most loyal supporters remain in denial.

Biden, meanwhile, forms his future cabinet and receives intelligence reports from the current government in preparation for his rise to power.

The inauguration is on the steps of Congress as usual on January 20.
