Yesterday, a new one Mario Golf game for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite – Mario Golf: Super Rush – was revealed and now a possible new leak has revealed the addition of a character that no one expected. In addition to Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Peach, Daisy, Toad, Yoshi and the other characters already revealed, it seems that players will be able to go green with King Bob-omb, or at least that’s what the site Nintendo officially suggests.
According to Nintendo’s site listing for the game, “King Bob-omb can hit the course with bombs.” Now, this does not directly confirm that the character will be a playable character, but it is what he suggests. If King Bob-omb is in play, this will be his playable debut for the sub-series and one of the few times he has been playable.
For those who don’t know: King Bob-omb – sometimes called Big Bob-omb – debuted back in Super Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64 as the game’s first boss fight. Since then, it has emerged as a boss fight in another Mario games, both on the main line and in the spin-offs, but he was never a playable character in anything other than Mario Kart Tour.
At the time of publication, the mention of King Bob-omb was removed from the site, and Nintendo did not comment on the apparent leak. If this changes, we will be sure to update the story accordingly. That being said, don’t expect it to change. If Nintendo wanted to comment, it would have done so when it laundered the information.
