Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury starts in 2021 as a losing game in terms of sales

The Wii U remaster retains first place for the second week

The recent launch of the Nintendo Switch Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Rage enjoys a second week in the UK charts after defending a sales race from the Electronic Arts football simulator FIFA 21. Despite physical sales falling more than 60% in the first week, the Wii U remaster is now the best-selling new version of 2021 … But we still have a long way forward.

The rest of the Top Ten remains relatively stagnant, made up largely of large hitters by 2020. Nintendo continues to dominate with steady physical sales of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Ring Fit Adventure, while Activision Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Take-Two Interactive Grand Theft Auto V enjoys new sales every week. Of Bandai Namco Little Nightmares II escaped the Top Ten after just one week, natural move for a niche title usually.

The first quarter of 2021 is a relatively quiet one, but this week the long-awaited RPG sequel will be released Default brave II, which launches on Switch February 26. The current climate only reflects the state of so many new generations, where a rescue opening of the launch titles is immediately followed by a period of drought. The launch schedule will increase with the release of the first quarter of 2021.
