Sales are up nearly 200% on Wii U originals
You can almost set your watch after him. Nintendo launches the Switch game, the Switch game reaches the top of the UK rankings. With each major release, Nintendo continues to win the favor of the British gaming public and last week’s release Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Rage was no exception, debuting in first place in the British charts.
As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Rage, which has received rave reviews from critics, is already the third largest Nintendo Switch Mario ever released, set right behind 2017 Super Mario Odyssey and 2020 Super Mario 3D All-Stars. In terms of its release figures, the new dual-pack is an absolute hit, with physical sales up 190% from the release figures for the original Wii-U 2013 – although, of course, the user base for Nintendo Switch far exceeds that of his big screen brothers. Nintendo’s new title is already a winner.
Elsewhere in the charts, Bandai Namco’s creepy sequel Little Nightmares II it debuted at number seven, following mostly positive press reviews. The rest of the Top Ten is completed by veterans in the Activision charts Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Nintendo Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Electronic Arts’ FIFA 21, and Sony’s Internet launch adventure Spider-Man Miles Morales.
