Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is the third largest release of Switch for a Mario game

Sales are up nearly 200% on Wii U originals

In terms of its release figures, the new dual-pack is an absolute hit, with physical sales up 190% from the release figures for the original Wii-U 2013 – although, of course, the user base for Nintendo Switch far exceeds that of his big screen brothers. Nintendo’s new title is already a winner.

Elsewhere in the charts, Bandai Namco’s creepy sequel Little Nightmares II it debuted at number seven, following mostly positive press reviews. The rest of the Top Ten is completed by veterans in the Activision charts Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Nintendo Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Electronic Arts’ FIFA 21, and Sony’s Internet launch adventure Spider-Man Miles Morales.
