Konami has revealed that Super Bomberman R Online, the spin-off Super Bomberman R previously exclusively for Google Stage, will soon come on Switch and other consoles.
Inspired by Bomberman R, which you may remember was actually a Nintendo Switch release title, this Battle Royale game first appeared on the Stage in September last year. The release date of Switch has not yet been announced, although we have been told to expect “soon” and that it will be a digital-only free-to-play title.
Here is a synopsis if you need to be updated:
While Bomberman returns with the game that made the franchise a classic party game – explore the battlefields, find hidden powers and use them to throw enemies – the action in SUPER BOMBERMAN R ONLINE erupts at new heights with “Battle 64 module ”. Offering an original Battle Royale experience, up to 64 players are spread across 16 original battlefields. As the levels are eliminated and the players are reduced, the number of battlefields continues to decrease until the last final battle to be the last bomber standing.
SUPER BOMBERMAN R ONLINE brings more than 100 combinations of customizable features, including numerous suits, accessories and, for the first time, bomb skins – affecting both the bomb and the explosion itself. Players can stand out from the rest with the optional Premium package, giving access to 14 additional bomber characters that pay homage to classic KONAMI IPs such as Gradius, Silent Hill, Castlevania and more!
We’ll be watching more news about this release in the coming weeks, but until then, let us know if you’d like to check this out on the Switch with a comment.
