Steelers LB TJ Watt could be on the verge of paying heavily

In each of the last two seasons of the NFL, it could be shown that TJ Watt, who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was the best defensive player in the league. And now, according to the Bleacher Report, he is ready to be paid that way.

They published their list of free agents from 2022 to be paid, and Watt was the great success of the group. They speculate that Watt’s new contract will be about five years and $ 140 million.

This would put him in front of Joey Bosa, a player from the Los Angeles Chargers, but slightly behind the Chicago Bears, Khalil Mack, in terms of the value of the total contract. But, on average, Watt’s $ 28 million per season would be the best in the NFL.

If there’s one place where Bleacher Report misses the mark, it’s where Watt will sign. The chances of a team overtaking Pittsburgh in the next offseason for Watt’s services, with the massive amount of salary cap they will have, are long. If not for the huge pay cut this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Pittsburgh would have tried to get a resolution extended this season.
