According to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport, the Pittsburgh Steelers want wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster to be back and have been in contact with his team for a new contract.
This sounds like a case where the Steelers frontier will give Smith-Schuster a contract number, let him out and test his free agency value, and maybe sign elsewhere or Pittsburgh will receive with open arms.
However, it will be interesting to see if Smith-Schuster gets a fair deal from the Steelers, even if he struggles to look elsewhere. He made it clear this off-season that he wants to be in Pittsburgh, so this could be a rare opportunity with loyalty and a strange salary cap situation converging to work with luck for Pittsburgh.
