ALBANY, NY – A health care provider in Orange County is accused by New York State of “fraudulently” obtaining the COVID-19 vaccine, health officials said on Saturday.
The Community Health Network Parking could have obtained the vaccine and diverted it to members of the public violation of state guidelines, who want to receive it first to health workers, said State Commissioner for Health Dr. Howard Zucker , in a statement.
“The State Department of Health has been informed of reports that Parcare Community Health Network, a provider in Orange County, could have fraudulently obtained the COVID-19 vaccine, transferred it to units in other parts of the state, in violation of the guidelines. “It is contrary to the state’s plan to administer it first to health care workers as well as nursing home residents and staff,” Zucker said. “We take this very seriously and the DOH will assist the state police. in a criminal investigation into the matter. Anyone who has knowingly participated in this system will be held liable to the fullest extent of the law. “
The Parking site is described as “a center with several specialties that offer services such as primary health care, internal medicine, dermatology, physical therapy and pediatrics; helping our patients maintain optimal health and prevent potential diseases ”.
Parking operates facilities in Borough Park, Bensonhurst, Williamsburg, East Harlem, Monroe and Bed-Stuy / Crown Heights.
BoroPark24 reported that ParCare received 3,500 doses of Moderna vaccine on December 21st. The company’s CEO, Gary Schlesinger, redistributed the photos with himself who received the vaccine on December 22nd.
“You have to be on this list,” Schlesinger said, referring to ParCare’s online enrollment lists. “Once you’re on the list, we need to vet you to make sure you’re either a medical worker, you’re over 60, or you have basic conditions.
