The coffee chain giant cited possible demonstrations as reasons for closing “selected stores” in the city, according to a statement.
“Out of an abundance of precaution and to maintain the safety of the partner (employee) and customer safety, local leaders have decided to close certain stores in the Manhattan area due to potential protests taking place today,” said a spokeswoman. word.

The stores were expected to reopen on Monday.
