Juarez City- Liras Park in the Paseos del Alba subdivision has a drawing of Mickey Mouse’s face in its interior design, but the neighbors consider that having this image is not something exceptional, because this place lacks more children’s games, lighting and, in general, police surveillance, because it is common for robberies to occur there to visitors.

Located at the intersection of Paseos de Alba and Liras streets, this park has only a few trees that were planted by locals, has a sidewalk that is used for walking and piles of dirt that are used for bicycle stunts, in addition to the image Disney’s iconic character, where parents take the youngest children of the house to play.

An image of this park was recently posted on the social network Facebook, which shows the face of Mickey Mouse, inviting the community to visit him, because they say that, although it is not Disneyland, it is an option for followers of this mouse.

Liras Park is better known as the Mountain Park, due to the mounds of earth that cover much of it and are used by boys to do stunts by bike, says Imelda, a resident of this neighborhood located in the south of the city.

“We all know that there is Mickey Mouse’s face and, in that space, there are always the youngest children, but the park needs trees and playgrounds,” says Cecilia, who lives across the street.

“I haven’t seen municipal workers cleaning or doing anything in the park for a long time, the few trees it has have been planted by the same people here, and the park’s residents are responsible for watering them,” Imelda said.

Both women agree that the park is used by the inhabitants of the colony, especially in the morning and afternoon, when they go for a walk or run around the place, as well as to use some children’s games that it has.

“People take advantage of it, but they need trees and other types of plants, because they only have a few, in addition to the fact that they also need lighting and police surveillance, because people are often assaulted when they pass through that completely dark park.” , says Imelda.

Other residents of the area, such as Javier, who was walking through the park yesterday, believe that it is necessary for all settlers to participate in order to give this site a different image, especially by planting trees and installing the necessary lighting, in addition to surveillance. police for the safety of visitors.
