Sources – Texas Rangers award SS Elvis Andrus to Oakland Athletics for slugger Khris Davis

Oakland Athletics is buying shortstop Elvis Andrus and another Texas Rangers player for designated hitter Khris Davis and a pair of potentials, ESPN sources confirmed.

He will also receive $ 13.5 million, and Aramis Garcia, the one who captures the minor leagues, while the one who attracts Jonah Heim and the right Dane Acker will head to the Rangers.

Andrus, 32, was the longest-running Ranger after 12 seasons and the only player left since his World Series appearances in 2010 and 2011.

Andrus played just 29 games last season due to persistent problems and hit just .194 with three homers and seven RBIs. He is owed $ 28.5 million over the next two seasons.

For his career, Andrus hit .274 with 76 homers, 636 RBI and 305 thefts.

Andrus’ numbers will soon replace Marcus Semien, who has signed a free agent deal with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Davis, 33, has 218 careers over eight seasons with Brewers and A’s. In 2018 he led MLB with 48 homers, but he managed only two last season over 30 games.

For four consecutive seasons, Davis hit exactly .247 before dropping to .220 in 2019.

The transaction was first reported by The Athletic.
