Sources – Los Angeles Lakers and F Kyle Kuzma agree to a 3-year, $ 40 million extension

Los Angeles Lakers striker Kyle Kuzma has agreed to a three-year extension of $ 40 million, including a player option before the 2023-24 season, sources told ESPN.

Kuzma, 25, ended talks on extending his recruit on Sunday, sources said.

In a rare non-max contract extension that includes a player option, the business allows Kuzma to become an unrestricted free agent at the age of 28. This is an advantage if Kuzma exceeds its extension, which starts with the 2021-22 season.

He is vying for a job with the Lakers, who will begin defending their NBA title Tuesday night against the LA Clippers at the Staples Center.

In his first three NBA seasons with the Lakers, Kuzma started 114 games and averaged 16.0 points. Kuzma was the 27th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

The deadline for signing the beginner contract extensions for the 2017 draft class is Monday night, on the eve of the start of the regular season.
