JJ Watt, the free agent’s defensive line agent, has received contract offers from several teams, league sources told ESPN’s Dianna Russini.
Several sources told Russini that the most profitable offer Watt currently has on the table is believed to be worth between 15 and 16 million dollars.
The Browns are among teams interested in Watt, according to ESPN and several reports, but it has not been clear since Thursday morning whether Cleveland has submitted a five-time Pro Bowler bid. Cleveland.com reported last week that Watt had a mutual interest in signing with the Browns.
The Texans released Watt earlier this month, ending the three-year NFL defensive ten-year-old in Houston.
At the time of his release, sources told ESPN that about a dozen teams – including the Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills – had already expressed interest in Watt.
Watt, who turns 32 next month, finished last season with five sacks, two forced kicks and an interception that he returned for a touchdown. He ranked 15th out of 119 pass-qualified qualifiers in the 2020 earnings rate, according to ESPN Stats & Information, and ended his Texas career as the franchise leader of all time with 101 career bags.
