Son of the Texas sheriff, accused of domestic violence, possession of marijuana

GATESVILLE, Texas (KWTX) – The son of Coryell County Sheriff Scott Williams was released Wednesday after being arrested and charged with domestic violence and marijuana possession.

Samuel Williams, 27, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. Monday after officers were sent to a home in Gatesville in response to a call for domestic violence, Gatesville police chief Nathan said Wednesday Gholke.

Coryell County Justice of the Peace Coy Latham has established an obligation for a charge of assault that resulted in bodily injury / domestic violence, a Class A felony and a charge of possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, a felony count of class B.

Williams was taken to Coryell County Jail on Monday night and was released after serving his sentence on Tuesday, archives show.

Scott Williams said he talked to prosecutors to make sure his son is not treated differently than any other defendant.
