Some local Weis pharmacies that administer COVID vaccines Health

SUNBURY, Pa. – Weis Markets said it will begin administering COVID-19 vaccines at 55 pharmacies in its Pennsylvania stores on Thursday.

Weis pharmacy staff will give priority to people aged 65 and over for COVID-19 immunizations. Weis pharmacies will prioritize COVID-19 immunizations for people between the ages of 16 and 64 with high-risk conditions, including cancer, chronic kidney disease, smoking, COPD, heart disease, Down syndrome, obesity and diabetes.

To receive the vaccine, customers must make an appointment with a Weis-certified immunizer on the company’s website.

Appointments for appointments are available the day before immunization and face covering is required. To ensure the effectiveness of the vaccine, Weis pharmacies will schedule clients for a second immunization four weeks after the first shot.
