Social organizations that have been participating in the agreement agreement for more than five years for the Pact on Electricity in the Social Economic Council (ESC) have requested the suspension of the activity requested for this Thursday to materialize the signing of the pact, as they were not convened purposes.

They claim that the presidency of the Social Economic Council must comply with Law 142-15 and respect its own institutional framework and warned the country that at this time the swearing in of representatives of the peasant and trade union sectors is still ongoing, which will be next Friday. , one day after the call to sign the pact and therefore the ESC courts were not summoned or informed about the document that is called to sign on Thursday.

In this regard, they announced that they will use the country’s legal authorities to claim their rights, to guarantee the processes and methodology set out in the document for the Reform of the electricity sector and the signing of the Electricity Pact established in law 1-12.

“Democracy is strengthened when institutions are respected, trust is created in those who make decisions because of their respect for institutions, laws and democracy itself,” says a document sent by the entities.

They pointed out that the law establishes their participation in the signing of the Pact on Electricity, so that by not invoking them for such purposes, there is a violation of constitutionality.

“I was surprised to receive the information circulating an invitation to sign the pact on electricity tomorrow at 11 am in the National Palace,” reads a statement.
