Walgreens

The Walgreens pharmacy chain began administering the vaccine today, Friday, through a programming system available on its website.

right Eileen Ortega Rivera, Walgreen’s director of operations in Puerto Rico, has already received the first delivery of the 10,700 they will receive and will be distributed through 103 pharmacies across the island.

However, Ortega Rivera said, they have already given all the appointments available for the weekend and the goal is to use all the doses they can administer for Sunday.

“Today there are pharmacies that had already vaccinated all the patients who had an appointment that day, because we started calling patients to arrive earlier, but as part of the plan, we administer a vaccine every fifteen minutes,” the company representative explained.

We recommend:

Costco

This megastore will not require a subscription to receive a dose of vaccine. According to Mirna Ramírez, an authorized Costco pharmacy in Los Filtros, a total of 2,000 vaccinations were given to patients over the age of 65.

Another 2,000 doses are expected to arrive this week. Like Walgreens, the spaces are separated through their portal, which you can access by clicking on the “Pharmacy” box.

“We are well organized by the hour. Each person leaves 15 minutes after the immunization is over,” Ramirez explained.

Wal-Mart

In the case of Wal-Mart, this megastore received 4,000 doses that were already injected at the end of January, and now they have received an additional 4,000 doses. They will be managed in 25 stores in Puerto Rico, according to Iván Báez, director of public and government affairs.

“People arrive, make an appointment at the pharmacy, based on the available inventory, or the pharmacist looks for patients over the age of 65 who are on the list of patients on the pharmacy form,” Báez explained.

In this case, the official said, it will be administered until arrival, so that the second dose is provided.
