SLO County reports 191 new COVID-19 cases, 3 additional deaths

San Luis Obispo County reports the deaths of three more people who tested positive for COVID-19.

Health officials say one of the patients was 80 years old, one was 90 years old and one was over 100 years old. All three had underlying health conditions.

San Luis Obispo County added 191 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the county’s total number to 8,460 confirmed cases starting Dec. 18.

Thirty-five people are hospitalized, including eight patients in intensive care. Another 1,651 people are recovering at home, and health officials say 6,706 people have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County had 59 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

The location of an additional 25 cases is under investigation, and another 10 are listed as “other”, which includes communities with less than five cases. The Department of Public Health does not identify these locations.

COVID-19 community testing sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
