SLO Co. adds 282 new COVID-19 cases in three days; 9 new deaths were reported

San Luis Obispo County added 282 new cases of COVID-19 in three days, bringing the county’s total number to 17,887 confirmed cases since February 1.

On Saturday, 164 new cases were reported, 65 new cases were reported on Sunday and 53 new cases were reported on Monday.

Health officials say 52 people are currently hospitalized. Another 1,184 people are recovering at home, and health officials say 16,445 people have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County reports that 15 of the 38 licensed and ICU beds in the county are currently occupied. Thirteen of them are taken by patients with COVID-19.

The county also added nine new COVID-19 deaths. To date, there have been 177 total deaths attributed to the virus in SLO County.

The location of an additional 66 cases is under investigation, and another six are listed as “other”, which includes communities with less than five cases. The Department of Public Health does not identify these locations.

COVID-19 community testing sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
