Slap Them All is a new hand-drawn beat-’em-up

Launch on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch this fall

Earlier this month, word of Shredder’s revenge he made me snatch the buried copy, but fortunately still to be found Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time. Here’s another announcement that makes me think of the glory days of the Konami arcade: a clear new look Asterix beat-’em-up game.

His name is the nostalgic mining fighter Asterix and Obelix: Fool them all and is heading to PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in the fall of 2021 from publisher Microids and developer Mr Nutz Studio.

Today’s press release suggests a “pretty simple” beat-em-up game – which, hey, can be completely good! – and also confirms local cooperation. Slap everyone it will include “the most iconic places in the comic book series” with enemies such as “legionaries, pirates, bandits and even the dreaded Normans”.

I’m not sure how it will feel to quarrel with the Roman threat, but I appreciate the greater than usual effort that led to the appearance of Asterix and Obelix: Fool them all. Some beautiful details there.

If you’re curious to see more beyond the short clip, Microids has some pictures here.
