Skyrim can run at 60 FPS on PS5 with a simple way, it doesn’t disable trophies

Skyrim PS5 60fps Mod

And just like that, someone created a mode for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition that makes the game run at 60 frames per second on PS5 (and PS4, cam). The author of the mode, MrWright, posted a short description of how it works on YouTube and it is safe to say that Skyrim has never worked better on PlayStation consoles.

By the way, you read the title correctly. As the mode description explains, you can really have Skyrim running at 60 fps without sacrificing Trophy functionality. Below is a quick step-by-step description of how it works.

  1. Download and activate 60fps mode
  2. Start a save (or start a new one)
  3. Return to the main menu (without closing the game completely)
  4. Disable 60fps mode in the mode menu
  5. Skyrim should now run at 60 fps even without the change enabled, allowing Trophies (as long as you don’t use other modes)
  6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 each time you open Skyrim

Again, if you have other modes enabled, Trophies will still be unavailable.

And yes, this mode also works technically on PS4 and PS4 Pro, but the results are not nearly as visible compared to when the game runs on PS5 through reverse compatibility.

So here it is: Skyrim runs at (about) 60 fps on PS5. Are you tempted to return to the Dragonborn world in this way? Shout in the comments section below.
