Security forces have arrested six people of Dominican origin for robbery with violence in two brothels and sexual assault of two women in one of them, located in the city of Tarrasa, Spanish province of Barcelona (northeast).
As reported by the Catalan regional police on Thursday, the group used “extreme” violence and is also linked to a robbery in a private house. Two of those arrested went to prison by court order.
The investigation began on September 22, 2020, when the Central Unit for Sexual Assault found out about a robbery with violence and intimidation in a prostitution bar where there were three women.
The attackers threatened them with knives to steal mobile phones, jewelry and cash and sexually assaulted two of them “in a particularly humiliating way”.
Police were able to identify two young men of Dominican origin due to their relationship with this attack.
Agents detected two more assaults, one in a similar location on August 27 and another in a house on December 2, both in Barcelona. The perpetrators were also young people of Dominican origin who used violence with the victims, tied them with deer and threatened them with knives or pistols.
Investigators concluded that the three assaults were linked and could be the work of the same man.
