Sir Paul McCartney claimed to have spoken to George Harrison because he believed that the spirit of his late friend had lived in a tree at his home.

The 78-year-old music icon made his sincere confession while appearing on NPR earlier this month and said that his fellow Beatles member, who died in 2001 of lung cancer, gave him the Christmas tree as a gift.

He explained: “George was very interested in horticulture, a really good gardener, so he gave me a tree as a gift. It’s a big Christmas tree and it’s by my gate.

Sir Paul released his new album McCartney III earlier this month, after writing and recording it during the lockdown earlier this year.

And in a BBC chat with actor Idris Elba, broadcast on Saturday night, the crooner admitted that he “didn’t realize” what he was creating when he did it.
