Sir David Attenborough hailed Joe Biden’s victory in the US presidential election and stressed the importance of America in the fight against climate change.

Mr Biden has pledged to join the Paris climate deal on the first day of his presidency after Donald Trump controversially ousted Washington.

The international agreement aims to limit global warming.

Sir David, an environmental activist, said “of course” that Mr Biden’s election victory in November was good for the world, adding “how could I deny that?”

Sir David, an environmental activist, said

Sir David, an environmental activist, said “of course” that Mr Biden’s election victory in November was good for the world, adding “how could I deny that?”

Speaking to Radio Times, the 94-year-old naturalist lover discussed the US return to the table of climate change.

He said: “It is of the utmost importance. The greatest power in the world and the greatest economic power in the world?

“Of course, it’s absolutely crucial to be a part of all of this, and if we want to find a solution through international agreements, America’s presence is beyond measure.”

Sir David, who recently worked on the Netflix documentary A Life On Our Planet, is a daring traveler and has made films around the world.

However, his flight days may be over. Asked if he would ever travel abroad to film again, he said “no, not very much.”

Sir David added: “It must be an old fact, but I realized that my heart was sinking deeper and deeper into my boots every time I went on an aircraft and looked down at that long line. and I was thinking, “I’ll be here another 24 hours.

“It didn’t make my heart lift with pleasure.”
