Shawnee Co. launches a survey of Phase 2 people and organizations interested in the vaccine

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Like other surrounding counties, the Shawnee County Health Department (SCHD) has launched an online survey for those interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. At this time, it is specific to those who have been identified as part of the Kansas Vaccination Plan – Phase 2. More information on who is eligible for the specific phase vaccine can be found at www.kansasvaccine.gov

Individuals or organizations who meet the criteria listed and are interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine as part of Phase 2 are encouraged to complete the following survey / interest form: http://bit.ly/ShawneeCoVaccineSurvey Additional details for vaccination and scheduling periods will be communicated as more details on the administration of the phase 2 vaccine are released and additional doses of vaccine will be available.

“We encourage all members of the community to receive the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available to them,” said Craig Barnes, director of the Shawnee County Health Department. “We are working hard to complete the vaccinations of health care workers and others as part of Phase 1, so that we can move quickly to Phase 2 people when we receive that guidance. Although the first doses of vaccine are here, we must continue to be vigilant and continue to wear masks, wash our hands and keep our distance ”.

The administration of the SCHD vaccine for Phase 1 individuals is still ongoing, with 1,788 doses of the vaccine being administered as part of its collaboration with GraceMed. According to the current KDHE guidelines, we will complete the first phase before moving on to further phases. The Modern COVID-19 vaccine requires two doses, separated by 28 days. Individuals should receive both doses to be considered fully vaccinated. Current and future programming is based on vaccine availability and may be modified based on vaccine supply.
