IIf you happen to be a white celebrity who has been “canceled” – or held accountable for doing something racist at work –Real time with Bill Maher is the perfect place to start your “White Victim” tour. And, following the venerable footsteps of fan Milo Yiannopoulos and black-faced apologist Megyn Kelly, Maher chose to use her platform influence to cry. “cancel the culture!“In defense of another rich racist: Sharon Osbourne.
In case you missed it, after Osbourne aired a defense of Piers Morgan’s insensitive comments to Meghan Markle on her daytime show The discussion, was confronted by two of her black co-hosts – Sheryl Underwood and Elaine Welteroth. When Underwood became emotional as he discussed Markle’s racist treatment, Osbourne scolded her, saying, “And don’t try to cry, because if someone were to cry, they should be. me. ”
Subsequently, reports emerged of Osbourne’s “long history of racist language and aggression”, with journalist Yashar Ali revealing that Osbourne called former co-host Julie Chen “wonton” and “slanty eyes”; named co-host and executive producer Sara Gilbert, who is a lesbian, as a “pussy spoon” and “fish eater”; and described Iranian-American agent Renee Tab as a “Persian carpet pussy,” and falsely accused her of stealing jewelry. Holly Robinson Peete, a black woman, also shared a frightening story about Osbourne, tweeting“I’m old enough to remember when Sharon complained that I was too” ghetto “for #theTalk … then I left. I bring this up now, I was mortified, watching the disrespectful disrespectful tone she took on with her host who remained calm and respectful because … SHE HAD to do it.
Osbourne was fired from The discussion and, instead of liability, she claimed that she was “established” and that she was the victim of an unnamed conspiracy against her.
Which brings us to Friday Real time. Maher first tried to recap why, in his mind, Osbourne was fired and distorted the situation by insinuating that she was fired only for his remarks by Morgan appearing on the show, and the comedian asked, “Who is the racist? And why? This is what I’m trying to find out. “Me too,” said Osbourne. “I’ve been called so many things in my life and I’m so used to being called a name, but ‘a racist’ is one I won’t take.”
“Do you have to agree with everything Meghan Markle says or are you racist?” Maher asked. “Is this the standard now? Is that what you think he’s trying to say? If you disagree with every person of color, are you racist? Sounds crazy. ”

“This whole drama is about someone saying, ‘I don’t agree with my friend, but he has a right to his opinion,'” Maher said deceptively.
“Disagreeing with someone doesn’t make you racist,” Osbourne said.
Later in the discussion, Maher – without naming them – brought accusations from the Ali report that Osbourne had said an anti-Asian insult, marking Remini and the other women who came out with stories about Osbourne’s “wizards”.

Maher then argued that people as old as Osbourne or himself should not apologize for their behavior.
