Final Fantasy 7 the villain Sephiroth was revealed last week as the next fighter to become a part of Super Smash Bros. last and will join on December 23, director Masahiro Sakurai revealed in a live stream on Thursday. So Sephiroth will be able to face nemesis Cloud Strife in the Nintendo Switch brawler next Wednesday.

However, you can use it earlier if you defeat the Sephiroth Challenge, which will be available from 15:00 on December 17 until 17:00 on December 22 (only those who paid for it can access the challenge). It also comes with the Northern Cave stage, which recreates (and totally spoils) the end of Final Fantasy 7 – however, seems unlikely that the remake will end in exactly the same way.

Sephiroth is the third fighter in Smash Bros. Ultimate’s $ 30 Fighters Pass Vol. 2, after Steve from Minecraft joined in October and Min Min of Arms in June. The permit will include six new fighters, and Nintendo said they will all be available by the end of 2021.

Previous Fighter Pass cost $ 25 and included the Persona 5 Joker, Dragon Quest 11’s Hero, Banjo-kazoo, Terry Bogard, Fatal Fury and Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

Each new fighter comes with a new scene and music and costs $ 6 if you buy them individually. If all these discussions about Sephiroth gave you a craving for Final Fantasy 7, excellent remake hit PS4 earlier this year and 1997 original is available on the Switch.
