Selena Gomez confessed during a backstage video released on Tuesday that she thinks it sounds better to sing in Spanish than in English.

The 28-year-old singer made the revelation in an accompanying video for her new song in Spanish De Una Vez, which she released last week.

The video was opened with an exterior photo of a one-story suburban house and then showed Selena inside, doing her hair and makeup.

Selena and a friend told a story about a mutual friend who wore a clown costume to take out a prank.

She laughed as she styled her hair and told how she intentionally uses a careless face with their boyfriend.

“This is actually my first Spanish song I’ve done since I think I was 18, 19,” Selena said after she was introduced to singing a few lines from De Una Vez.

Selena took the direction of the opening scene and the raw footage played her out in a pink dress with a floral print, sitting on a bed with sheets and satin pillows.

“It was very fun to walk in it. It’s just a completely different world. And I personally think guys, I don’t know if others really care, but I think they sound better in Spanish than in English. What’s weird, right? That’s just my thing, she added.

Selena, as she sat on a yellow couch, showed her funny side, explaining that she had just used some of her “magic powers” to turn off all the lights in the room.
