The Puerto Rico Seismic Network (PRSN) reported early Tuesday that an earthquake was reported around 12:44 p.m.
According to the agency, the earthquake had an intensity of 4.8 degrees, a depth of 23 kilometers and was recorded in the city of Carolina.
The PRSN has ruled out tsunami advice, warning or surveillance for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
