See the Fiat “Hey Google” family of cars with voice assistant

Technology companies like Google have been putting their technology in cars for years, but a new collaboration marks the first time that drivers will be able to drive a real car with the Google brand.

Fiat recently unveiled the new Fiat 500 “Hey Google” special edition family of vehicles, which has Google Assistant technology that allows owners to communicate with their cars remotely and wear Google logos and design features both on the outside, as well as inside cars.

The Italian carmaker, owned by Stellantis, announced on Wednesday the collaboration with Google, through a press release announcing the three new special editions Fiat 500 – Fiat 500, crossover 500X and multifunctional vehicle 500L – as “where Google technology meets the cold.”

The three cars, with various sizes, from the two-door Fiat 500, subcompact to the 500X four-door crossover SUV, all offer a lot of Google technology.

They have a 7-inch touch screen on the dashboards of the cars, which comes with the built-in Google Assistant. This allows users to connect to their car’s dashboard via the Google Digital Assistant on their smartphones or the Google Nest Hub.

Fiat and Google say drivers of new cars can even interact with their vehicles remotely.

Wherever you are, even sitting on the couch at home, just say the words “Hey Google, ask my Fiat …” to find out, for example, where the car was parked; how much fuel is available; where is the nearest authorized workshop; by [miles] I covered the day, “Fiat said in a press release.

The company adds that drivers can even ask Google Assistant to ask their car if they remember to close the doors or trunk of the car.

Beyond the technology, the Fiat 500 “Hey Google” cars have all the small, circular “Hey Google” logos on each side of the vehicle, right in front of the side mirrors, as well as other elements decorated with the colors of the Google logo.

The car’s pillars are “adorned with elements inspired by Google’s colors.”
