SAN ANTONIO – Lawyers for SeaWorld seem to have had some concerns about the water system in San Antonio that wants to use its parking lot as a water distribution point for residents who desperately need water.
According to SAWS President and CEO Robert Puente, lawyers had many questions.
“Questions about compensation, liability. We understand that. We also know that there is an emergency. We’re trying to eliminate all this. It was impossible to solve. We had to go to the mayor and the county judge to declare an emergency to allow us to get to this property and use this parking lot, “Puente said.
Puente said that when the lawyers heard of a possible declared emergency, they let go before SAWS entered the property.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg’s spokesman said no emergency order had been issued.
The SeaWorld site is one of seven water distribution sites at SAWS pumping stations, where the utility provides free water to customers who do not have water or low water pressure due to the winter storm.

Customers will need to bring their own clean containers, such as jugs, to fill with water, the utility said.
Customers will be allowed five gallons of water per person. As a precaution, the water should be boiled before drinking or used in cooking, reflecting the current boiling water notice for the city, officials said.
Starting Saturday, the operating hours will be from 8:00 to 18:00 every day. The sites will be open until the water system returns to normal operating conditions.
