Now we can add the young Kryptonian, Supergirl, to Warner Media’s ongoing efforts to duplicate (at least!) Every character on their DC Comics movie and TV lists, with Deadline reporting that Sasha Calle will play a new version of the character in Andy Muschietti’s future Flash movie. Calle is best known for her role Young and restless, where he appeared in the last 283 episodes. (This is “from 2018” in speech that does not represent the soap opera.)

Muschietti posted a video on Instagram today, showing the moment he revealed to Calle that she was cast in the role, and it’s, you know, extremely cute and sweet. Calle was one of more than 400 performers who auditioned for the role (apparently not even knowing what role they were heading for for much of the process); among other things, he read with the film’s star, Ezra Miller, as part of the extended verification process. Calle is the first Latinx actor to play the character, who is currently played by Melissa Benoist in The CW’s Arrowverse.

In the meantime, not much is known about it flash, which has been in development for years without much in the way of the movement before. The biggest news, of course, was the addition of Michael Keaton’s Batman in the cast, making it clear that the film would probably have sunk into the DC Comics multiverse. There is also the intended large part will not to go forward; Ray Fisher’s cyborg should have originally appeared in the film, but his disagreements with DC Films about alleged abuse on set Justice League It has that earth burned pretty well so far.
