San José earthquakes, a new option for Chofis López

Not in Chivas’ plans, Chofis could find his new team in MLS, and the club led by Almeyda could hire him.

A few days before the start of the 2021 Closing Tournament, a new opportunity has been added for Chivas midfielder Eduardo López, after the San José Earthquakes in MLS are interested in the services of the Guadalajara youth team.

Sources close to ESPN, confirmed the interest of the board of directors of the North American team to acquire the player for his next campaign, after he will not enter into plans with Chivas, so there were already discussions between the two directives.

So far the economic problem has been the main obstacle for the negotiations to take place, after the MLS team did not reach a significant price for the player’s services, so they are under discussion so far.

Another important reason why the negotiation can take place is that the technical director of the Californian team, Matías Almeyda, recommended the signing of the youth team from Guadalajara, after being part of his team during his time with Chivas.

Considering this, Eduardo Lopez He would join Carlos Fierro and Oswaldo Alanís, as other elements who left Mexican football to look for an opportunity in MLS, precisely in the “Pelado” Almeyda team.

Despite the fact that negotiations between the two clubs are advanced and seek to reach an agreement on the economic issue, the León and Tijuana set remain as the other possible destinations for López for the next campaign.

López will become the second player to leave the rojiblanca institution, after José Juan Vázquez was loaned to the Toluca team, so the only player who would not have a team so far is the defender Alexis Peña.
