Samuel Viñas Prison in Barranquilla – Barranquilla – Colombia

It must be remembered that Viñas was sentenced to 42 years in prison for the femicide of Clara, his wife, occurred on January 1, 2010, when the man operated his firearm three times, hitting the woman’s integrity twice.

He has since been detained in the El Bosque penitentiary in Barranquilla, but on 7 February 2020 he was granted the measure of house arrest by the Fourth Court for the execution of sentences, citing the prison’s inability to deal with the prisoner’s health problems. ..

Despite the vice-president’s protests, despite the fact that he appealed to the General Prosecutor’s Office and after filing a complaint about the judge’s unpopular measure, the judges appear to have fallen asleep and put the trial in a legal language that has not been resolved so far, ”Niebles said.

What you see are pure “puppy” people, they see a poorly parked one and the police immediately throw it away.

Where did Viñas go?

One year after Samuel Viñas left prison, he arrived at a luxury apartment located on the 9th floor of the Turquesa Real building in the Villa Country district, in the historic northern center of the capital Atlántico.

In fact, EL TIEMPO took a tour on Friday in this area of the city and there was a calm panorama, with low traffic of vehicles and people, as is characteristic of the sixth layer.

“What you see are pure ‘puppy’ people, they see a bad one parked (someone unknown to the inhabitants) and the police fire him immediately”, said a worker for this environment.

They reject the situation

Defense lawyer Edgardo Niebles claimed that the defendant took advantage of his contacts and power to get him out of prison, for which he questioned the management of local and national justice in this case.

“At the moment, he is fulfilling the promise he made to Claren while she was alive that he will not pay for her death. Given – logically, as EL TIEMPO says – to be a businessman with great economic power in Barranquilla “, he assured.

On the latter, Niebles pointed out that lawyer Julio Ojito Palma, who was a magistrate When Viñas was in prison, he is now a family counselor and has “certainly” advised him to replace the sentence with a fourth judge.

“We are horrified to see one of these femicides enjoying freedom, because of the way prisoners are being pursued in Barranquilla, certainly not met with that rigidity that a punishment must have in the house“The lawyer said.

The victim’s lawyer concluded that the pandemic had aggravated the situation, as – according to him – the terms are not respected and the page of the judicial branch does not work.
