Saints facing COVID-19 discipline

The Saints face discipline from the league’s office for violating COVID-19 security policies, according to Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. This marks the third such violation for Sean Payton & Co., so the penalty is likely to be even higher.

Between the two previous penalties, the Saints have already been docked $ 750,000, plus the fall of a seventh-round election. First, there was a lack of mask clothing in Week 2. Then the Saints were seen celebrating again without face coverings in Week 9. The last flag comes from an end-of-season incident in which running back Alvin Kamara came in contact with a positive person COVID-19 within the team. That person was not hired by the saints, even though non-team staff were banned from entering this season.

When Kamara contracted the coronavirus, the moment could not have been worse. In week 16 against the Vikings, he recorded six ground touchdowns, which match a 91-year-old record. Forced out of the season, Kamara finished the year with 21 TDs in the NFL. Meanwhile, several other RB saints were forced to leave week 17, paying more attention to the saints and their protocols.

The Saints project will have four or possibly five selections in the 202 project. Currently, they only have the first, second and fourth round choices. However, they receive a pair of third round compensation options for employment Terry Fontenot and losing Teddy Bridgewater. In the following days, the saints could lose more of their stock.
