Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy were expected to return to the Bears in 2021

For the past two days, Chicago Bears fans have been walking back and forth, wondering what the team will do with general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy heading off-season. It seems that the answer is about to be revealed.

Multiple reports coming out of Halas Hall indicate that both Pace and Nagy will not be fired and are expected to return to the Bears for the 2021 NFL season. The news was first reported as a rumor by Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs and later confirmed by Dan Wiederer as well Tribune.

The report comes almost 48 hours after the Bears were defeated by the New Orleans Saints 21-9 in the playoffs, the second trip in the postseason in three seasons.

Pace, who has been the team’s general manager since 2015, has overseen only one season in which the team has finished with over .500 since being hired by bears. He hired Nagy in 2018, who broke a regular season record of 28-20, but coached the team back .500 seasons. Nagy also suffered a series of six-game losses last year.
