Russia to decide on withdrawal from ISS in 2025 after technical inspection – Science and Space

Moscow, April 18 / TASS /. Russia will conduct a technical inspection of the International Space Station and make a decision on the withdrawal from the project starting in 2025 and inform its foreign partners.

According to the administration of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, the period of the station’s operations has expired and its condition leaves much to be desired. “Lately, reports of technical failures have come more often. In order to avoid any risk in the event of accidents, it is necessary to carry out a technical inspection of the station. After that, a decision should be made.”

The issue of continuing Russia’s participation in the ISS project was discussed at a space meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 12.
