Running is a good accident

Crash Bandicoot: On the run, released today for iOS and Android, is a game in which Crash Bandicoot runs through narrow corridors, breaking boxes and collecting Wumpa Fruit, just like any other Crash Bandicoot game. As the mobile spin-offs go, it’s pretty nose.

Looking at the screenshots that the developer King.com of Candy Crush fame offered the launch of the game despite the fact that my phone only plays it in portrait mode, it can easily go wrong On the run for a Crash console joint. The game looks great. Crash makes his signature move to beat enemies and smash things. The difference is that this game is a three-lane car, so you don’t have to tell Crash or his sister Coco to go ahead. I’m just doing it.

Crash Bandicoot: On the run he is not, however, an endless runner. Crash and Coco go through finite levels to get a boss to the end, generally avoiding the obstacles they throw as they get close enough to remove them with various craft items. The elimination of four sub-bosses allows the bandicoot brothers to take over a slightly tougher boss, after which a new set of villains is unlocked.

Free play catches on Crash Bandicoot: On the run is that the struggle of the bosses requires the elaboration of the confections mentioned above. Crafts require materials, which are harvested through special levels of assembly. Once the materials are collected, you can create potions and what is not needed to fight the bosses, but there is a timer (boo) that can be accelerated with the game currency. You can collect everything you want, but to progress in the game you will need to create random things. The game currency can also be used to buy skins, to buy potion reagents, or to purchase additional tickets to participate in the game’s asynchronous multiplayer, which puts you in pairs of AI-controlled opponents to see who survives the most.

There are plenty of free mobile fluff, though Crash Bandicoot: On the run balances all this nonsense with a sense of fun and nonsense that is Crash’s signature. Once I’m deeper into the game, I can imagine those timers getting damn annoying, but for now it’s nice to have that crazy bandicoot in my pocket.
