Rumor: Smash Ultimate Fans Think Fighters Pass Vol. 2 Could receive a seventh character bonus

Could we get a bonus fighter as a last surprise?
Could we get a bonus fighter as a last surprise?

It seems like it’s actually been a long time since we last sat down and thought about a Super Smash Bros. rumor. Ultimate – probably because most who find their way to the internet are completely fake nonsense – but here’s one that could just have something to do.

A Reddit user named RiuBert theorized that the second batch of the DLC game, “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2 ‘, could get a seventh bonus character in addition to the six slots that have already been promised.

As RiuBert explains in their post, all games, DLCs and product packages have a unique code (known as NSUID) on Nintendo’s official website. With the first set of DLC characters, from Piranha Plant to the first final addition of the Fighters Pass, Byleth, the DLC codes are arranged chronologically from 70050000008501 to 70050000008506. Below is the Rex Mii bonus suit offered to those who buy the first Fighters Pass, which ends in ‘8507’.

(As an upside, these links will take you to the Nintendo New Zealand website, where NSUID codes are displayed using the URL of the page itself).

Now, things get a little more interesting when we look at Fighters Pass Vol. 2. As before, the fighters are listed chronologically (Min Min is 70050000018967, up to Pyra / Mythra at 70050000018970, with “18971” and “18972” reserved for the two unannounced characters). This time, however, the bonus reward of the Ancient Helm + Gear suit is not listed immediately after, with an NSUID of 70050000018974, rather than ending with ‘18973’. Instead, this mysterious “18973” is “currently unavailable.” Still with us?

It would seem, therefore, that Nintendo still has something to announce following the sixth DLC fighter. Immediate, exaggerated thoughts jump to a potential the seventh fighter, which could be true, although it could also refer to an echo fighter, another bonus suit, or something else entirely.

What do you think? Is there anything in this? Could you see Nintendo pulling out a surprise character to end things with an explosion? Let’s avoid raising our hopes also much in the comments below.

Thanks Greatsong for the tip!
