Rumor: Evidence of a “new” Nintendo Switch Dock allegedly minified in system update 12.0.0

Switch the console

Yesterday, Nintendo released version 12.0.0 of the Switch firmware. Although you would have expected it to be something significant, according to the official patch notes, all it did was fix a problem with the data save function. Is hiding other things, though?

Although I’ve already had a conversation about this, it seems that data analysts could have discovered it now something big. It appears that new information is appearing that firmware 12.0.0 probably contains evidence of a “new dock” designed for a newer system model that may receive updates.

The classroom, as you may recall, is considered to be the code name for the 4K Nintendo Switch rumor – to which it all relates:

OatmealDome also noted how it could be an update for the current Switch dock, but, as far as I know, it has never received it.

“The dock itself contains only USB chips, a MyDP -> HDMI converter and flash memory to store its firmware. I’m not sure what the point of an update would be given how basic it is inside. as far as I’m concerned, I’ve never received one.) “

The same source further mentions how update 12.0.0 adds the following internal setting: “4kdp_preferred_over_usb30”, which apparently “makes sense”, given the rumors about “4K output” in the new model:

If that’s what some think it is, Nintendo hasn’t gone to great lengths to hide this information. Could all this lead to a Switch Pro? We’ll let you discuss in the comments section below.
