Roger Martínez could continue at Club América, looking for a new opportunity

Although Club América sporting director Santiago Baños has publicly stated that he does not have Roger Martínez for the next Clausura 2021, the change of technical director in El Nido would have opened a new possibility for the Colombian striker, who would have no problem in the team if Santiago Solari takes it into account for his team.

According to information published by ESPN, Roger Martínez’s father confessed that his son is waiting for the decision of Santiago Solari, who will have the last word in the continuity of the “tank” at Club América.

“Anything can happen. We hope everything works out for the best for America and the player,” Roger’s father said.

“The only thing I can tell you is that he still has a contract with America until 2023 and is waiting to see what happens. We are hand in hand with God, waiting for God to see what is best resolved for both America and Roger, ”explained Martínez Mercado.

Roger’s father was very emphatic that the player plans to play for Club América next season, denying that he is currently trying to accommodate the striker to another team.

Striker Águilas has not reported on the pre-season with Club América and is expected to arrive at the end of this weekend to be under the command of his new coach, Santiago Solari, who could lead his first practice the same Saturday at Coapa.
